Meet Sue
Revd Sue Cooke
National Director
Sue is the National Director of LyCiG, taking over leadership from founder Revd Canon Robin Gamble in February 2025. Previously the Vicar of St Thomas with St Stephen in Balham, Sue’s ordained ministry has spanned the dioceses of Guildford and Oxford, following a career as a secondary school teacher.
Sue has been part of the LyCiG core volunteer team for several years, leading and speaking at Church Growth Conferences in the UK and overseas. She brings rich personal experience in growing churches and a deep passion for helping clergy and lay leaders flourish, encouraging parishes to grow in faith and in number.
Sue says, “I am thrilled to be appointed as National Director of LYCiG. It had to be a special role to take me away from parish ministry, which I love. The joy of this role is knowing I will be helping other clergy and lay leaders to flourish and feel hopeful in their own parish ministry. I look forward to working with all the team and ask for their prayers as I prepare to leave my current role and take on the leadership mantle from the indomitable Robin Gamble. This is an exciting time for LYCiG and I am proud of what we as a team can offer the Church of England as we encourage the local parish church.”
