Our Mission & Vision

Encouraging, Inspiring, Equipping

what we offer

Why We Exist

Our mission is clear: to encourage, inspire, and equip church leaders and congregations across the UK and beyond for lasting growth. For almost 30 years, we’ve served as a partner to the local church, providing practical strategies, vision, and support that help parishes flourish in faith, numbers, and ministry.

Our vision is to see a growing, vibrant church movement, where communities of faith are spiritually alive, missional in outlook, and serving their neighbourhoods with love. We believe that every day churches, grounded in the gospel, can transform their villages, towns, and cities through intentional, Spirit-led growth..

“In a church culture which is too easily besotted and beguiled by all that is shiny and new, Leading your Church into Growth concentrates on the tried and tested, putting parish and people, evangelism and service front and centre. This is extraordinary help for ordinary churches.”

— Archbishop Stephen Cottrell (patron of LyCiG)

Revd Sue Cooke

National Director of LyCiG

For almost 30 years, LyCiG has grown from its roots in the North of England to serve churches across the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Our team of 25 includes vicars and curates, liberals and evangelicals, liturgists and evangelists, Catholics and charismatics, archdeacons and bishops — from both rural and urban contexts.

The thread that binds us? We’ve all worked in growing churches and share a deep passion to see many more churches grow and many more people come to faith.

I first encountered LyCiG as a curate, and the teaching I received at that conference changed the way I led. In my first incumbency, I applied the principles and saw the church transform and grow. I did the same in my next parish, and again saw culture change and kingdom fruit.

That’s why I chose to leave parish ministry and become National Director — because I know this works. The steps are simple, the tools are accessible, and the conferences unite clergy and laity to create missional plans that make a real difference.

We see ourselves as a servant community, sharing encouragement, good practice, effective strategies, and Holy Spirit-led inspiration. Everyone on the team volunteers their time because they believe in what LyCiG offers the local church.

“It seems more and more dioceses are focusing on the need to grow their parish churches. Perhaps Leading Your Church Into Growth could help you with a pathway forward — and your churches could benefit from our shared experiences.”

We would love to support you, your church, or your diocese.
