A two-day course for local churches wanting to grow their youth ministry missionally, spiritually, and numerically.
Why does this course exist?
Across the country, many churches long to engage with young people but don't know where to begin. Some have no volunteers. Others have enthusiastic teams but no shared vision. Many simply lack confidence. LyCiG Youth exists to help ordinary local churches discover a realistic, sustainable vision for ministry with young people.
Who’s involved?
The course was developed from a partnership between Leading your Church into Growth (LyCiG) and Youthscape, supported by funding from Church of England. Together, we've combined our experience and passion to create training that helps churches build thriving ministry with young people.
What does the course cover?
The programme is practical, theologically grounded and rooted in the real experience of churches who want to serve young people in their congregation and community. It brings together church leaders, volunteers and anyone passionate about seeing young people thrive, creating space to learn, reflect and be encouraged alongside others on a similar journey.
The conference takes place over the two days, during which we explore six sessions. Throughout the sessions there is teaching, opportunities to reflect and moments to chat as a team.

This course is for people from your church who will lead and support youth ministry.
Growing any ministry requires leadership and vision, so this course is both for those who will work directly with young people and those in senior church leadership who will communicate and support this vision.

Jesus tells a parable of a shepherd who leaves his flock to go after the one sheep. Youth ministry begins when we choose to pray for and prioritise young people even if those young people aren’t yet a part of our church.
This course will equip you to find out who the young people are in your community and give you the confidence to grow a ministry with and for them.

We believe if you have one young person, you have a youth ministry. This training will help you shape your ministry in the context that you’re in, no matter where that is.

Our next conference is in Brentwood on 12th and 13th February 2027. This is a 2-day conference on Friday evening and all day Saturday.
