Philip John North

What do you do as your day job?
Bishop of Burnley which means I work across the whole of Lancashire.

Describe a key life moment where your faith became more real:
A wonderful youth weekend in Kent when I was a teenager. It was led with energy, wit and sincerity and it was when I first began to see that the Gospel is about relationship with Jesus in his Church.

What major event has happened for you this year?
In February the General Synod passed a motion that committed the Church of England to having a loving, worshipping, serving Christian community on every significant urban housing estate in the nation. LYCIG has a huge role to play if this is to happen.

What do you love to do in your spare time?
I love to walk up high mountains.

Which animal best describes you and why?
A leopard. Fast-paced but easily bored.
